Wow has it been awhile, and wow did this manip help me get a general idea of the more shades of a color, the more in depth your manip looks. I started out with an actual horse coat, but the colors just didn't match those of the lion/horse hybrid I was trying to depict, so I used a mix of colors with the paintbrush tool to make what I hope looks like fur. I admit it, I'm still an amateur, which is why I'm turning to those who have more experience in horse manipulations than me to please leave comments of advice so I can make this better.
I want to finish the front paws, but the default pencil and even paintbrush on GIMP are so pixelated. I also want to make the eye and muzzle more in depth (I'm going to clean up around the coat a bit.) Links to downloadable brushes, tutorials, or artistic advice is welcome to help me accomplish this, as well as to make it better. I'm willing to learn, but I need the right guidance. Thank you.
